HALLOWEEN FUN

Thank you to all teachers and support staff who made Halloween at Bennie a special event for everyone!  It was so much fun to see all of the superheroes at school on Friday!  Thank you for being patient with the excited children and their eager families on this festive day.  Your flexibility and cooperation was greatly appreciated as we paraded indoors for the first time in many years.  You are wonderful!

TUESDAY’S PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

On Tuesday, the elementary staff will be in their own buildings most of the day, as we hold three separate sessions with the same activities.  It was challenging to find a space that could accommodate the entire elementary staff and still be conducive to good sound quality and a comfortable working environment.  We will meet in the Media Center at 8:00 a.m.  We will begin our day with a staff meeting and will review a few items, including our staff norms, school improvement goals, NWEA information, and miscellaneous business before we begin our work with PLCs for the day.  A final agenda will come your way on Monday!

PIES! PIES! PIES!

Wednesday is Market Day delivery, including the pie pickup.  Our PTA is THRILLED to share that, thanks to your enthusiastic response to the pie throwing incentive, our Bobcats shattered the fundraiser goal of 175 pies and sold over 460 pies!!  THANK YOU for being open to this motivating incentive for our students, which raised more money than expected for the PTA.  It is wonderful to be able to support the PTA, who is always so supportive of us.  The tentative pie throwing date is December 9.  The schedule is TBD.  More info will come your way soon!

WRAPPING UP THE FIRST QUARTER

Can you believe that Friday is the end of the first quarter of our year?  Time flies when you’re having fun, right??  As I have previously mentioned, I expect that you have communicated your students’ progress to their families at some point in the last several weeks.  Report cards will go home next Friday, and we should have communicated progress in such a way that nothing on the report card is a surprise to families.  Please consider the comments you include on the report card carefully.  All comments should be designed to be constructive feedback that families can use to help their child grow as a learner.  Conferences will be held on November 19 and 20.

FLEX BENEFITS

Flex benefits forms are due to Joannie Payne by Friday, November 7.  Please be sure you fill out this form and return it to her ASAP!  Remember that even if you are not adding to your flex benefits, you must fill out this form to receive the minimum benefits provided by the district.  Ask a friend if you need help filling out the form, or let me know if you’d like some assistance.  I am happy to help!
