Year-End Checklist

Here are some items to be completed before the year’s end.  This list will be regularly updated (in the tab above) with due dates.

  • Update your Student Supply Lists (things you are asking students to bring to school).  Share your Google Doc with Michelle and me by Monday, May 11.
  • Update your Materials Request Lists (supplies you or your students need and you are requesting we order).  Share your Google Doc with Michelle and me by Monday, May 11.
  • With your grade level partners, decide on the classroom magazines you wish to order for next year (National Geographic; Scholastic News; Weekly Reader, etc.) Please update the list of magazine requests (if it was not on your materials request lists) by Monday, May 11
  • Return all materials to the Literacy Library for inventory by June 12
  • Enter this year’s PD on the MOECS website.  (see above) Print and sign this PD log and put in my mailbox.  Enter the same PD information on the RESA website if you do not need to renew your certificate.  Please enter this info by Friday, May 31.
  • Enter Year-End BAS data in Illuminate DNA (Fountas & Pinnell 3rd Administration) through MiSTAR by Friday, May 31.
  • Consult with parents to finalize any retention decisions for next year by Friday, May 29.  Please let me know if you need me to be a part of this conversation.  This is best done by phone or Zoom, rather than email or text.
  • Begin dividing your class for next year.  You will receive a shared Google doc.  Please have your class divided by Friday, May 29.
  • Make a list of all field trips your students attended this year.  Include curricular connection, and cost to students.  Prioritize them in order from most relevant to your curriculum, to least relevant.  We will discuss this as a group before the end of the year.  Please have this list to me by Friday, June 7.
  • Please review and update your current progress reporting forms you are regularly using with families.  Think about what changes may need to be made when considering the possibility of a hybrid in person/online environment at some point next year.  Please have these examples to me by Friday, June 12.
  • Send a list of all books needing to be rebound to the office by Friday, June 12.
  • Put student pictures in CA-60 files.  Either use name/year stickers, or write this info below the photo.
  • Complete student report cards.  Put CA-60 copy into folder before you leave for the summer.
  • Record attendance in two places on CA-60.  Sign indicating promotion or retention for each student.
  • Check out with office so your room can be checked for summer readiness before leaving — shelves emptied, countertops & windowsills clear, closet completely closed.
  • Send a classroom map to Robin for summer cleaning.
  • If you are moving classrooms, make sure ALL of your items are labeled with your name and NEW room number.  Keys should be traded with Michelle.
  • Return your blue Emergency Bag to Bernadette before you leave for the summer.
